Saying rural communities are the backbone of Ontario's economy, Chatham-Kent-Leamington MPP Trevor Jones announced funding for two projects, one in Chatham-Kent and one in Leamington.
Brew on the 42 Waterfront Market Plaza in Leamington will get $48,484 of Rural Ontario Development funding, while $50,000 was announced for the Chatham-Kent Museum Exhibition and Interpretive Plan.
The projects are among the first approved for funding under the Rural Ontario Development Fund.
"These investments will help strengthen our local economy, support job creation, enhance tourism opportunities, and preserve important community assets," said Jones.
Since 2019, the province has invested $34.3-million in 653 projects through the ROD program and the former Rural Economic Development Fund.
