Impaired, dangerous driving charges laid in Hwy. 401 crash

The driver of a vehicle that crashed into a guardrail on Hwy. 401 on Wednesday now faces impaired driving charges.

The Ontario Provincial Police were called to Hwy. 401 near Provincial Road in Tecumseh just before 2 p.m.

The crash shut down the westbound lanes of the highway for about 90 minutes.

The driver, a Petrolia man, was not hurt, but now faces two counts of impaired driving and one of dangerous driving.

The officer suspended his license for 90 days and impounded his vehicle for a week.

The accused is expected to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on November 20.
